Dr. Jeffrey Nuechterlein serves as Chairman and Independent Board Member at Cartica Management. In 2000, Dr. Nuechterlein founded and since inception has been Managing Partner of Nue Capital LLC, an investment management company based in Alexandria, Virginia. Nue Capital manages public and private equity investments. Previously, he was Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer for privately-held National Gypsum Company's pension fund (1997-2000); Senior Counsel to the U.S. Trade Representative (1995-96); a lawyer with the firms of Dewey Ballantine (1992-95) and Covington & Burling (1987-89); Special Assistant for Policy to the Governor of Virginia (1990-91); and Counsel to the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee's Subcommittee on Technology (1989-90). He served on the board of Chesapeake Lodging Trust, an NYSE-listed company, from 2010-2019. Dr. Nuechterlein earned his BA and JD from the University of Virginia and his MA and DPhil from Oxford University.
