In 2011, he created and launched KataData, an award-winning iPhone app for filmmakers which has been downloaded on the iOS App Store in over 100 countries. He has led the company to its 1M user mark, with media professionals and companies like VICE, BuzzFeed, and Facebook counted among its customers. The company won an Apple Design Award at Apple's 2016 World Wide Developer Conference under his leadership. A tech entrepreneur who has been involved in filmmaking, post-production, and computer graphics for over 17 years, prior to Frame.io, Emery founded Katabatic Digital, a boutique post-production facility in NYC that offered a wide range of digital services to television and advertising clients and participated in the creation of over 100 Digital Shorts for NBC's iconic Saturday Night Live.
