Dr. Daniel Yergin is the Founder of Cambridge Energy Research Associates. He also served as Senior Advisor at Energy Capital Partners. He also served as Board Member at Perella Weinberg Partners. He also serves as Vice President at IHS. He has been affiliated with Riverstone since its inception. He also served as a Board Member and Advisor at expHnad. He is Chairman of IHS Cambridge Energy Research Associates, where he advises companies, governments and financial institutions around the world regarding energy and power matters. He is both a Pulitzer Prize winner and recipient of the U.S. Energy Award for "lifelong achievements in energy and the promotion of international understanding." His newest book is The Quest: Energy, Security, and the Remaking of the Modern World. Dr. Yergin received the Pulitzer Prize for his work The Prize: The Epic Quest for Oil, Money and Power. He co-authored Russia 2010 and What It Means for the World, which depicted Russia's move to a market economy, and Commanding Heights: the Battle for the World Economy. Dr. Yergin serves on the U.S. Secretary of Energy and Advisory Board, is a member of the Board of the U.S. Energy Association and a member of the U.S. National Petroleum Council and served as Vice Chair of the new National Petroleum Council study, Realizing the Potential of North America's Abundant Natural Gas and Oil Resources. He also chaired the U.S. Department of Energy's Task Force on Strategic Energy Research and Development. He is a Trustee of the Brookings Institution, a director of both the New America Foundation and the U.S. Russia Business Council and a member of the Russian Academy of Oil and Gas. Dr. Yergin is on the advisory boards of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Energy Initiative and the Institute for 21st Century Energy. He is also on Singapore's International Energy Advisory Board and the Yale Center for Energy and Climate Advisory Board. In 2011, the Alliance to Save Energy honored him as "Star of Energy Efficiency". Dr. Yergin received his B.A. from Yale University, and his Ph.D. from Cambridge University, where he was a Marshall Scholar.
